DAMASCUS PASSIVE HOUSE Damascus, OR
A dream home for a retired couple set on an old five-acre pasture. The landscape focuses on permaculture principals, and the architecture is designed to meet Passive House standards by Birdsmouth Design Build. The active domestic space is kept close to the house; patios, vibrant plantings, and tiers of vegetable gardens. The remaining acreage is given over to ecological restoration, that will in time come to fruition. This landscape is a mosaic of diverse plant communities generated by clues found on the old pastureland site. The design provides both human interest with varying views and textures, as well as a resilient habitat that is rich for wildlife.
