TROUT CREEK RANCH
This vast private holding in the SE corner of the state was obtained and placed into conservation by the Oregon Desert Land Trust, in collaboration with the Nature Conservancy, in 2021. Spanning 16,000 acres from the Pueblo Mountains to the Trout Creek Range, the ranch lands contain critical wild life habitat and wetlands. Best range practices will be applied to maintain the land in a working state while protecting the most fragile parts of the ecosystem. Our task was in reimagining the ranch headquarters to maintain ranch functionality while accommodating an expanded program of guest quarters and facilities for visiting volunteers and experts, a public access element, and restoration of the scrub lands around the headquarter complex.
